I’ve been living in my dear little mountain
town Huallanca for over six months now. During the first three months or so I
really had to adjust to the slower pace of life. Going from living a full
speed, always busy and productive American life to the slow paced life style in
a small town in the mountains of Peru was quite a change. Now that it’s been a
decent amount of time, I have really settled in to my little mountain town and
have gotten use to the slower pace of life and I’ve realized that I am really
enjoying it J There are so many simple things in my little mountain town that I
have come to appreciate and adore immensely and even though there are still
difficult moments of being a Peace Corps Volunteer and being a bit secluded in
the middle of nowhere, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything J
Here are some photos of the things that I
am really enjoying in my town:

I took this photo right outside my house :) |

Nature walks with the students from my summer program. |

Again, the beauty of where I live is incredible! This is a shot from a bike ride just outside of town that I recently went on. |

Forming relationships with local moms :) |

Forming relationships with adorable kids in my community and hanging out with them as often as possible! |

I met the most precious family about a month ago and have been hanging out with them and their kids often! |

I am one happy Peace Corps Volunteer :) |

Just look at his cute hat! |

Since living in Huallanca I have really come to appreciate sheep! I LOVE sheep!! (but I don´t love eating them like many do) |

I love my little town :) |
Summer has come to an end and the normal school year is currently in the process of starting up-meaning classes officially started this week but things are a bit slower and less organized in Peru so classes haven’t really started and only half the kids have shown up. Now that my summer program is over I will be starting a lot of new projects and classes! I am excited for the chance to get some new projects going!
